Advertising with a Spring Theme

After a long, drab spell of winter, we welcome spring with excitement and a craving for colors. Rainbows overtake shop windows, grocery stores, boutiques and other retail locations. And it is no surprise that the ads for the season are just as vibrant, with a wide variety of advertisers building on the theme.

This ad for spring activities in the town of Scugog includes pictures of people enjoying the outdoors. The bright colors invite readers into the ad. The photos encourage parents to sign up their kids and kids will look forward to all the fun they will have at these parks. Flowers and butterflies are recurring images in ads of the season.

Along with blossoming buds and warmer temperatures, spring is when families can start spending time together outside without their coats, hats and gloves. We often see people on the move. Here is an ad that celebrates the idea of family activities at the local park. Like the others in this post, it is extremely colorful and has those flowers and butterflies again.

Spring is a time when many people get an urge to freshen up their décor and furnishings. This ad for the home show promises ideas for homes that will brighten them up and chase away the winter blahs. The logo is an eye-catching pink and green, and the photo featuring bright flowers slows viewers down to absorb the details of the event.

The spring season stirs up hunger for all the produce the garden has to offer and we start thinking about picnics, barbecues and pool parties. This is an ideal time for caterers and restaurateurs to advertise. This mouthwatering ad promises that Foodland will take care of all the details, allowing consumers to focus on the event. The point comes across by featuring a large array of colorful fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Even auto dealers can get into the spirit. You can see here that the liberal use of green and sprinkling of flowers gives a seasonal feel to this ad for Sample Auto Sales, despite the fact the trucks have nothing to do with spring!

In direct contrast to all the other advertisers, the newspaper insert GoodLife looks to attract advertisers for its spring issue by using black and white. Nevertheless, there are still flowers and butterflies featured. The publisher seems to leave the color to its advertisers so they can stand out.
